Located at 419 Lake Air Drive in Waco, Texas, we serve patients whose owners often travel as far as 100 miles for treatment. The changing attitudes and expectations of America's population have opened and expanded the numbers and types of creatures that inhabit our homes and yards. New and exciting techniques are being used daily in our veterinary hospital to protect and prolong the lives of these trusting friends.
We receive referrals from veterinarians in the region for problems associated with dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles, and we refer to specialists at the Dallas Referral Center and at the Small Animal Clinic, College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University in cases which could be better diagnosed and treated by doctors specializing in surgery, opthalmology, neurology, radiology/ultrasonography or other related fields.

Advancing technology offers newer, improved and more rapid methods of treatment and communication, and aids veterinarians at Emerson Animal Hospital in responding more quickly to their patients and clients needs.
On-line discussions between veterinary doctors via the internet and Veterinary Information Network, a twenty-four hour a day computer connected association of over 14,000 veterinarians from around the world, allow rapid consultations concerning any subject that may affect your pet. As an example, I took a picture of lesions on a sick animal, a turtle in this case, using a MedRx imaging unit and uploaded them to VIN. Within 10 minutes, I had a response and was able to discuss the problem and suggest improved treatments for Molly's health quickly and more successfully simply because of my work with the VIN discussion group and a rapid connection through DSL to the world wide web (internet).
Computing capabilities in conjunction with the emerging fields of digital imaging technology (taking, developing and transmission of x-rays, sonograms, microphotographs, electrocardiographs and other images by modem over telephone cable) make feasible many possibilities nearly unimaginable only a short time ago.
