Coping With the Loss of a Pet
The loss of a pet is a difficult experience no matter what the circumstance! After all, pets in our society are treasured family members that understand and love us when no one else may understand. At the end of the day, or when you are feeling alone and down, who comforts you and asks nothing but the touch of a gentle hand?
Sometimes a pet's death is untimely and sudden. At other times, it may come after battling chronic illness, or we may make a personal decision to alleviate a friend's pain. Whenever it happens, we must go through a process of mourning and healing. Many pet loss groups have been formed across the country to help people to work through this process, and the internet has also joined in helping us deal with the loss of our special friends.
