Main: Physical Examinations
Our Mission :  To offer the best in modern veterinary care to Central Texas pets and their families.

Physical Examinations

  • The single most important gift that you can provide for your pet to insure its health and a longer, pain free life is an annual physical examination. Discovering any problem at an early stage and correcting it is far better than waiting until a later date.  Ignorance is not bliss!
  • Dogs, cats and all other pets age much more rapidly than people.  By current estimates, each of their years  approximates 5 to 7 human years.  Medically, that is a substantial amount of time.  Because of this, a comprehensive annual(yearly) physical examination for your dog, cat, bird, reptile or pocket pet is prudent and money well invested their continuing good health.
  • At Emerson Animal Hospital, we will provide your pet with a thorough annual examination.  We may also suggest diagnostics such as laboratory blood testing, radiography, ultrasound studies and cardiac testing, or steps such as dentistry or even surgery to correct problems identified during the exam.  These studies, tests and procedures are done in an attempt to eliminate identified problems before they become irreversible.  We will also suggest preventative measures that can benefit your pet, such as nutritional modifications and vaccination protocols.  If your pet has not had an examination recently, please call our office for an appointment.
  • In some instances, pets require examinations more often than once yearly.  This is true for those that have serious long-term illnesses, just as in humans.  Heart disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity and chronic bowel disorders are just a few in the long list of problems that can necessitate more frequent veterinary visits.
