Our Mission :  To offer the best in modern veterinary care to Central Texas pets and their families.

We Work Together

At any veterinary hospital, the person who fills each position, from veterinarian to kennel maintenance worker, is extremely important.  Not just anyone will do.  Special characteristics, such as a love of the creatures of this world, patience, a gentle touch and a calm spirit that animals can detect, are necessary to quiet the fears of owners and pets when entering our doors.

At Emerson Animal Hospital, we are very fortunate to have a well staffed, highly competent team of professionals who have amassed over 170 years of experience in their chosen field.

In the reception room, you will be greeted by Alex Bailey and/or Kristy Herring.  They collect the initial history and information that makes possible a thorough study of any animal's health problem.

After visiting with them, you will be invited into the examination room where either Doctor Emerson or Doctor Frey will welcome both you and your pet.  They are assisted by one or two of our friendly staff, Diane Spiegel, or Dessie Enrico.

From this point, one of several options for the health care of your pet are available.  Many illnesses are diagnosed and treated as the owner watches, and then the pet is allowed to go home.  In other instances, a period of hospitalization is necessary, possibly a portion of that day or more, up to a week or two.

Each case is different, and our recommendations are driven by the health and the response to treatment of your sick or injured pet.  We attempt to make any animal's stay with us as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

Kristy Herring administers our animal  training and behavioral counseling classes.

We have found that clean, well groomed animals with good personalities, socialization and training make far better family members whose company we may enjoy for many years.
