Emerson Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary facility for
small animals. We treat a variety of species daily: dogs,
cats, birds, reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles), several different
pocket pets (mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils), rabbits,
hedgehogs, and sugar gliders. When the clinic opened on July
14, 1969, dogs and cats were the only pets seen with
regularity. As the years passed, all of these other animals
have become popular with the public, often seen in homes, offices,
classrooms and retirement centers.
Opening in a new building on a previously
vacant lot, a pasture only a short time before, Emerson Animal
Hospital has grown into a veterinary practice that treats thousands
of pets each year, and has, since that opening day, treated
approximately 385,000 animals.
At Emerson Animal Hospital, each new wave
of knowledge and technology that has occurred in the last 32 years
has resulted in an increased quest for information concerning the
new species of pets, purchases of state of the art instrumentation
and equipment with which to diagnose and treat animal diseases, and
a growing desire to help our multitude of patients with their vast
array of health problems.
Today, we utilize advanced broad spectrum
antibiotics, genetically engineered vaccines, safer anesthetics
that allow surgery patients to awaken within ten minutes, computers
that speed us through our days, surgical procedures that defy
belief, ultrasound that allows us to see with sound waves, and all
types of imaging methods from MRIs to CAT scans that identify
tumors we previously would not have even known existed, to help
your pet.
